I will listen, lobby, and lead for our downtown residents, organizations, and businesses as we focus on three core areas:

1. SMART URBAN GROWTH

Let’s embrace best practices in urban design. Let’s invest in active transportation options and let’s improve our development processes so that residents are informed and engaged along the way. Most importantly, let’s find ways to ensure council approved planning recommendations are finalized and more quickly embedded in our official plan.

2. VIBRANT AND COMPASSIONATE COMMUNITY

Kitchener’s economy is strong, and our downtown is in a renaissance period. Let’s build on our successes, and in the process, let’s ensure no citizen is left behind, regardless of income or abilities. Let’s support arts and culture and build on the successes of our lovemyhood strategy, and our civic innovation lab, where we are a leader in building solutions for municipalities, using cutting-edge technology. Let’s work with partners to have more affordable housing and mental health and addictions supports.

3. ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY

I have strongly supported our open data policy. We need to take it to the next level to ensure data is easily searchable and presented in useful forms. We need to stay in touch with the community’s priorities and be accountable to them.
